20th Anniversary Party.
As you walk down the red carpet in your flowing Dolce&Gabbana
gown, you blink from the bright flash of the paparazzi.
You hear the proclamations of herald trumpeters announcing
your arrival. And the Japanese geisha greeters are ever-so
polite as they escort you to your table. No, this isn't
a day in the life of a Hollywood celebrity. It's a 20th
Anniversary Party for a local company.
The event was a
truly festive occasion, as almost 200 employees and guests
gathered at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in
Washington. A beautiful setting was created in gold trim
paprika shimmer, highlighted by Rosie Lee Tompkins's "Something
Pertaining to God" art exhibit and Heather and Tony
Podesta's "Modern Love."
Guests were treated as royalty and enjoyed the electrical
entertainment of world-renown harmonicist Frédérick
Yonnet, who has performed with the likes of Stevie Wonder,
as well as the heart-beating experience of watching a
troupe of African dancers and drummers.
The five-course dinner party included details like the
trumpeters, geisha greeters, valet parking and hired "paparazzi."

The mouth-watering dishes were prepared by Well Done Catering,
featuring Thai Vegetables Crepe Bundles with Sake Dipping
Sauce; Vegetable Dumplings in Lemon Broth; Cucumber Sorbet
with Cucumber Salsa; Grilled Black Angus Tournedos with
Morels; and for desert, Tiramisu Parfaits and freshly
brewed imported Mocha Java coffees. Click to see full
